say what you will, cranky hipsters, but DE STIJL by The White Stripes is a great album.  Yeah I like my slabs of lo-fi blues punk to come with THEE WILD BILLY CHILDISH stamped on the sleeve, but this album is so fun.  For an underground band that found mainstream success, the White Stripes never really fell off too hard.  The sound stayed hissy and distorted.  I sorta don’t like the Led Zep direction they took starting with bits of White Blood Cells, but who cares,  I’m gonna listen to this album and enjoy it.  I have some of their Sympathy For The Record Industry 45’s and they are really great too.
